GREGORY THUAN DIT DIEUDONNE, L.L.M, JD
Is an attorney at law in Strasbourg, France, specialized in international, Indigenous and European law who represents the Mattakeeset Tribe of the Massachuset Indian Nation.
Honorable Gregory is a holder of a Master of Laws (L.L.M) in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law from the University of Lund, and a DEA in Droit comparé des Droits de l’Homme en Europe, from the University of Strasbourg, he is recognised in the Legal Community for his sound legal expertise and competence in the field of International and European law.
Pamela Baley, J.D., BA, BA
Is not only a firm advocate working at the United Nations Geneva and New York Headquarters on behalf of the Mattakeeset Tribe but is also an attorney whose experience spans from client side direct involvement with operational and financial risk and asset acquisition, as well as involvement on the broker side.particularly focused on developing novel approaches and modalities to identify and quantify risks, particularly those pertaining to environmental, financial, and Indigenous Rights as they apply to both Indigenous Peoples and the companies doing business with, on the land or affecting, in any capacity, Indigenous People and/or rights.
Joseph P. Kalt, Ph.D
Mr Kalt has represented various tribes in the negotiation of contracts, the rewriting of tribal constitutions, the reform of tribal governments, the mediation of disputes, the design of tribal enterprises, and the securing of compensation for treaty violations and land confiscation. Kalt has testified as an expert on behalf of numerous tribes in federal and tribal courts, and has testified frequently before the U.S. Senate Committee on Indian Affairs. He also served as advisor to the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples.
In addition, he is the author of numerous studies on nation building in Indian Country and co-editor (with Stephen Cornell) of What Can Tribes Do? Strategies and Institutions in American Indian Economic Development.
He received his Ph.D. (1980) and M.A. (1977) in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his B.A. (1973) in economics from Stanford University
Honorable Dr. Jeremy Dupertuis Bangs, Ph.D
Dr. Jeremy Dupertuis Bangs was honrarily adopted into the Mattakeeset Tribe in 2019. Dr Bangs was named as a Knight of the Order of Oranje-Nassau by King Willem-Alexander. On "Koningsdag", the King's Birthday celebration in The Netherlands on April 27th, the Mayor of Leiden, Henri Lenferink, presented Dr. Bangs with this knighthood (called in Dutch an "onderscheiding" in the rank of "ridder").
This honor is granted after a long and extensive process and finally confirmed by the King, who delegates to the local mayors the presentation of the decoration. This presentation was part of a celebration of Dr. Bangs and the work he has been involved in since he moved to Leiden, and the 20-year jubilee of the Leiden American Pilgrim Museum. Dr. Bangs' many years of study of the Mayflower Pilgrims has benefitted both the United States and the Netherlands.
